WPU-Plugin for bcAdmin 2

Correlation of bat activity and wind speed. Display of long-term monitoring data.

Overview

The WPU-Plugin or WKA-Plugin (from German Windkraftanlage) for bcAdmin 2.0 was developed for analysis of data sets as they are acquired on long term monitoring sites (mainly wind turbines). Its main function is the correlation of bat activity with wind speed for determination of optimal algorithms for starting wind speeds. For this feature wind speed measurements have to be supplied in CSV format by the wind turbine operator. Currently wind speed in ten minute intervalls can be used for activity correlations. Further factors may be incorporated in future updates.

Functions

After choosing the recordings in bcAdmin the Plugin is started. You then can choose to correlate the selected activity with wind speeds or to plot an activity overview as displayed on the right side.

After loading the CSV file containing the wind speeds different options allow to customize the CSV import as well as time offset of batcorder and wind turbine.

A simple graph shows cumulative activity at al wind speed classes.
