Quick overview of bcAdmin 2.0

bcAdmin 2.0 is the updated release of our recordings database. It was redesigned from scratch and offers apart from a much easier to use user interface many smaller improvements. It requires at least Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) and is optimized for 10.6 (SnowLeopard). The upgrade from bcAdmin 1 to bcAdmin 2 will cost 175€ netto. Users who bought bcAdmin 1.0 in September 2009 or later are entitled for a free upgrade. We wil also add a multi-computer license scheme that allows you to request license files for up to 4 computers owned and run in your office. Details will follow.

bcAdmin 2

The new version of bcAdmin 2 can be downloaded and used easily. Using bcAdmin -> Plugins -> bcAdmin1 Import you can import databases created with bcAdmin 1. That way all your existing data can be accessed from within bcAdmin 2. bcAdmin 2 israther stable already and used internally at ecoObs as well as by beta testers successfully since September 2009. Yet, there will be smaller bugs or missing features. Especially 10.5 systems were only tested with less intensity compared to 10.6 systems. If you decide to use the beta version we are always happy about any bugs or feedback reports you want and can send.

What is new?

• Projects allow for simple collecgtion of sessions in the sidebar
• For multiple selections of sessions recordings are shown now
• nightly activity graphs with colored bars and more new features
• graphs to support species identification

• export of selected RAW files to WAV format
